Owanto,
An Intimate Exhibition
Paris | 6-7 November 2021

Owanto is an established multicultural Gabonese artist and activist who has dedicated her life to speaking, through art, on the emancipation of women around the world. She represented the Republic of Gabon at the 53rd Venice Biennale with a solo show entitled The Lighthouse of Memory - Go Nogé Mènè. Following successful exhibitions at the Zeitz MOCAA in Cape Town, MACAAL in Marrakech, and MADRE in Naples, her latest work, currently exhibited at the Paul Eluard Museum in Paris, tackles the subject of excision through monumental archive photographs covered with hand made, cold porcelain flowers.
From 6 - 7 November, she will be in Paris for an unprecedented exhibition in our premises. The solo show will present her photographs, neons (light sculptures), a sound installation titled One Thousand Voices, as well as a performance of Feeding my Ancestor in tribute to her Gabonese grandmother.
This exhibition, reserved for our most knowledgeable collectors, will be the subject of a private sale during the 2 days of the exhibition.
An intimate private viewing is scheduled for Friday 5 November at 6 PM, bringing together collectors and the press.
