Natalia Osipova: Triptych

The world's first ballet NFTs

Natalia Osipova, Principal of The Royal Ballet in London, has performed three pieces, two from the classic ballet Giselle and one from the contemporary duet Left behind, in which she dances alongside Jason Kittelberger.

The pieces will be sold as NFTs in our new auction, Encore! Modern Art on Stage, which celebrates the creative intersections of visual art and the stage.

A Dancing Journey

Natalia Osipova is a Principal of the Royal Ballet, having started dancing at only five years old in Moscow. She joined the Mikhail Lavrosky Ballet School at the age of eight, later graduating from the Moscow State Academy of Choreography.

During her career, Natalia became renowned for her role as Kitri in Don Quixote, gaining international acclaim. She has a wide repertoire at the Royal Ballet, performing the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker, Nikiya in La Bayadère, among other renowned roles.

Osipova's debut as Giselle at The Royal Ballet in London cemented her position as a world-renowned classical ballerina. Her embodiment of Giselle has been praised as one of the most definitive interpretations of the role in her generation, thanks to her gravity-defying jumps, incredible fluidity, and intelligent, poetic storytelling during both the Entrance of Act II and Solo of Act II.

Left Behind, Natalia’s latest work, merges ballet with contemporary dance, harnessing the freedom of expression this art form allows.
