Gender Pay Gap
At Bonhams, we firmly believe in promoting fairness, equality, and inclusivity. Achieving gender pay equity is a crucial part of this commitment, and we have been working diligently to analyse and address any disparities that may exist within our compensation structure.
Through this analysis, we have identified specific measures and initiatives to bridge these gaps and ensure fair compensation for all employees based on their skills, qualifications, and contributions.
We understand that achieving gender pay equity is an ongoing journey that requires continuous evaluation and improvement. We remain committed to fostering a culture of equality and fairness at Bonhams.
Following the acquisition of Cornette de Saint Cyr, Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr now exceeds 50 employees and is therefore required to publish its Gender Equality Index. This year our index score stands at 60/100.
We are proud to have excellent scores in three key areas out of four: individual salary increases, salary increases upon return from maternity leave, and gender pay equity among the ten highest remunerations. Recognising areas for improvement, we keep looking to further strengthen our commitment to professional equality between men and women.
Meet the Team
What advice you can give to someone that wants to work at Bonhams?
“You don't need art world experience to get your first job at Bonhams. In many ways entry level positions have more similarities with the service industry. If you can handle Friday nights pulling pints at a Soho pub or serving cocktails at an Upper East Side eatery you've already got the skills we need. It all comes down to a steady pair of hands, a level head and a desire to succeed in this industry.”
— George Foren, Head of Europe Operations, Paris
What is your favourite thing about your role at Bonhams?
“Working at Bonhams allows me to see and research so many different works of art and design that I might have never seen before. These little new discoveries broaden my own knowledge and personal interest while revealing tiny underlying connections that link the art and design worlds.”
— David Trujillo, Specialist, Head of Sale, Modern and Decorative Art, Los Angeles
